The perfect treat for a dreary, rainy, Wednesday. Head over to iTunes right now to download Faith Hill’s “Oh Holy Night” for freeeeeeee!
Sorry to be such a tease, folks. And sorry I am a horrible blog-neglecter. I haven’t had it in me the last few weeks.
Anyways, after posting Friday’s teaser, I went home and packed and got all ready to go to Indianapolis so that we could run the Tecumseh Trail Marathon on Saturday morning. Once Casey got home, we discussed the realities of this race.
- We did not train for it. (I had good intentions…)
- It was going to be well-below freezing on Saturday morning.
- We were going to hurt ourselves.
- The money went to charity.
- We did not train for it. (Reason one was really enough)
After Chicago, I wanted a fun run to do. Even though it was a marathon, I thought Tecumseh sounded challenging, but beautiful, and something totally different. I’m sure those things were true, I just wasn’t there to see it! It’s been a busy few months and we just didn’t devote the necessary training for this run, bottom line. Also, we both want to run spring marathons and we were worried about injuries on the rocky, slippery trail. Not to mention the pre-race email warned: Please remember to wear bright clothing, as it is still hunting season. (No joke.)
So we decided to pass, but we went to Indy anyways. We were able to have a nice and relaxing weekend, and it was definitely needed. We got to catch up with lots of Casey’s extended family over a nice breakfast, as well as meet baby Hannah – the two week old precious nugget of Casey’s friends Chuck and Kim. She was tiny and smelled good and once she fell asleep on my shoulder, I never wanted to give her back.
Wedding update! Our Save the Dates are finally happening! They should be mailed out at the end of this week, and once they are mailed, I’ll post pictures on the blog. I love them, but they have been a hassle. I am a control freak and have to do everything myself, and I’m glad I was able to design exactly what I wanted. That said, I now know why people pay other people to do these types of things. I will be glad when they are out the door! Whew.
