    A Look Back.

The Resurrection.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I’m back now. Sorry for the blogging hiatus – is anyone still even checking this thing? If not I don’t blame you.

I don’t really write much about my job here, because you know it is – you never know who’s reading – blah blah blah. That said, I work in fundraising, and the single most important thing I do all year is our annual fundraising event….

…which was this past Wednesday night – hence the lack of blogging. Trust me, there was a lack of everything. Lack of returned phone calls and emails, lack of sleep, lack of sanity. The planning starts waaay back in the fall, and by April my life is completely dominated by auction donations, guest reservations, and volunteer management. This was my 5th one, but for some reason it never seems to get any less chaotic.

It was a big sucess, and most importantly it is OVER, and I have a five million pound weight of my shoulders. Now I can move on to much more fun and important things! And of those fun and important things, let’s get to the first one…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LINDSEY!

Today is Lindsey’s birthday, and tonight’s festivities will include eating fancy tacos and clinking our glasses in celebration of her 28 years! I can’t wait.

The weekend holds birthday fun, as well as (hopefully) a lot of check marks on the wedding list.

Eight days until the marathon.
Fourteen days until the wedding.
Gulp.

Happy Birthday, Linds – a little trip down memory lane for you…

Lindsey’s 24th birthday in April 2005 -
drinking games and friends celebrating in the old Burch apartment.

Fearing she was getting old, the birthday girl insisted on bonging a beer to show her youth. But of course we WERE getting old and didn’t have a beer bong, so we had to make one out of a 2-liter – classy!

And a dance-party to end all dance-parties ensued…

Ahhh those were the days…

Happy birthday, lady:) Here’s to 28 and many, many more!

Taper Time.

20 mile run – CHECK!

Thank you:

  • Casey – for being so supportive and encouraging, and casually deciding Saturday morning to tag along on a 20-mile run. Who does that?
  • Mother Nature – for absolutely perfect running temperatures and sunshine. A little less wind next time, okay?
  • Keith Urban – for this (pretty much three hours on repeat!)…
“Hit the Ground Runnin”

I’d hit the ground
I’d hit the ground runnin’
I know exactly what I’d do, honey
I’d hit the ground
I’d hit the ground runnin’
I’d hit the ground runnin’ after you…

Nineteen days until the marathon. Three weeks of taper, rest, and food. Here’s hoping I don’t taper my way right out of my wedding dress…
