Stormy North Carolina made for one of the worst night’s sleep that I can remember. Howling wind, pouring rain, and barking dogs = no sleep for Emily. The culminating point was that when I actually was asleep around 2am, Casey taps me and says, “Did you hear that? What was that?”
For those of you that know me well, you know I am the most paranoid person ever – absolutely terrified of noises in the night! I don’t know what he was thinking, but after that I laid awake listening to every scratch, drip, and thunderous roll, convinced we were all going to die. Pretty much standard for me.
I AM SO SLEEPY!! Not the best way to start off another packed week. But alas – it is here! At least I have fabulous hot oatmeal for fuel. Since I scraped out the bottom of my Trader Joe’s raspberry preserves yesterday, today was the perfect morning to dig into a package that I received last week…
The nice people at Crofter’s sent me a jar of each of their new Superfruit Spreads! I am a huge jelly/jam/preserves girl, so I was very excited about the prospect of four new jars! The Superfruit Spreads are 100% organic and packed with antioxidants. From the company’s website:
Stuffed with 1 pound of premium organic fruit, our new line of Superfruit Spreads includes four unique fruit combinations, sourced from around the world. Each certified organic spread is sweetened with fair trade sugar and contains one-third less sugar than jam. Experience these different cultural tastes while getting your daily dose of antioxidants.
I let Casey choose which one to have first, so he picked Maqui and Passionfruit blended with Morello Cherries and Red Grapes. Holy superfruit – this stuff is amazing!! So much flavor and sweetness with big HUNKS of fruit inside! Definitely my favorite jelly option to date. With only 30 calories per tablespoon, these are a much better alternative to all the fake unpronounceable stuff found in the jars in the grocery store…
We had ours in peanut butter and jelly OATMEAL form! With some slivered almonds for an extra crunch…
Take ripe, flavor-packed organic fruit;
Add as few things as possible;
Preserve, capturing peak fruit goodness;
Share with fellow fruit lovers for year-round delight.
YUM! With a belly full of oats, I’m off to another full day of Baking & Pastry class! Happy Monday!
Does anyone else get scared at night? I jump at every noise!
