I had planned to put some BLUEberries in my oatmeal this morning as a means of Super Bowl celebration, but it turns out there was no occasion :( Oh well, as a Bengals fan I am used to being disappointed by sports teams!
Last night’s Super Bowl party was a lot of fun, but I was TIRED this morning when the alarm went off at 5am. I knew I needed a good bowl of oatmeal to wake me up and hold me over until lunch.
I love putting slivered almonds on top of my oatmeal, because it gives it such great texture and crunch. Also, by combining nuts and whole grains into one dish, you form a complete protein – especially important for vegetarians! Sprinkled some raisins on there for fun, along with PB2 drizzle and apricot preserves, mmmmmm,
Finished off with something I rarely drink – juice! I filled this recycled jelly jar up with 50% juice and 50% water – I think it’s too sugary and sweet straight up.
Juice was good, but I’m missing my coffee. Off to go hunt some down and head to class. Check back tonight for a fun GIVEAWAY post, and pictures from today’s class!
