Au Revoir, Classical French!
EXCITEMENT! Not only did I survive my Classical French class, I got an A++++!!! I ended up getting a 98.5 on my final exam, and did well on my practical exam (sautéing veal) too – I am soooo relieved to have made it through and done so well. I can’t believe i only have ONE nine-day class left before I graduate. Nine days!?! How did that happen? Sniff…
I celebrated the end of French class with a good, long workout. I met up with Kath for a long sunny walk before our yoga class – we probably walked 3-4 miles. We had so much to catch up on! The fun thing about blogs it that we already knew what each other had been up to this past week – we just needed to fill in the details. :) After yoga, we headed indoors for an hour long HOT HOT HOT vinyasa class with Sarah. This girl is TOUGH – I was shaking and sweating and felt like a pool of Jell-O when class was over.
I had told Casey that I would do our weights workout with him afterwards, but as soon as class was over I called him to say he could go ahead and start without me since I was so drained from yoga. I got home and did a few quick sets with Casey, but I was way too tired to do much. The dogs weren’t really supporting our workout time anyways…
While I was gone, Casey had gone ahead and started dinner, making another round of delicious homemade bean burgers.
I was in charge of side items, and decided to make a very culinary school-inspired dish. Braised Brussels sprouts, cabbage, and apples – yum!
These looked a LOT more appetizing before they sat on low heat for 20 minutes while we showered before dinner. But despite the appearance, it tasted great. I love the flavor combo of cabbage and apples.
Homemade garbanzo curry burgers. Absolutely delicious!
Side salad with cherry tomatoes and a nutritional yeast dressing – yeast flakes, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, mustard, and water – all shook up.
And before I go, a few gratuitous dog photos, because it’s been a while and because I can. I missed them so much when I was gone these past two weekends!
Finally have a weekend in town with just a few plans here and there – going to take advantage of it and try to get a LOT done! Happy Friday!
